Ms. Lau obtained her Bachelor of Social Sciences degree from the University of Hong Kong in 1988, a Master degree in Economics from the University of Hong Kong in 1992 and another Master degree in Investment Management in 1998 from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Ms. Lau began her career in the Hong Kong Monetary Authority in 1994, working in various functional areas including monetary policy, economic and market research, market systems policy, banking development and securities enforcement. Currently, Ms. Lau is responsible for the oversight of investment risks and other risk-generating activities across the Hong Kong Monetary Authority.
