In 1998, he returned to Hong Kong and joined the Department of Medicine and Therapeutics in Prince of Wales Hospital to receive specialist training. He was admitted to the fellowships of the Hong Kong College of Physicians and Hong Kong Academy of Medicine in 2002. In the same year, he was awarded the Silver Medal for best dissertation by the Hong Kong College of Physicians. He is currently a private practitioner in Gastroenterology and Hepatology and a Clinical Associate Professor (Honorary) in the Department of Medicine and Therapeutics of the CUHK.<\/p>\n<p>Before entering private practice in 2005, Dr Hui took part in many research projects and drug trials whilst working in Prince of Wales Hospital. His main areas of research included peptic ulcer disease, colon cancer, liver fibrosis, complications of cirrhosis, natural history and treatment of chronic hepatitis B and C. He was a reviewer of scientific journals including Liver International, Journal of Hepatology and Laboratory Investigation and has published 70 articles in international peer-reviewed journals and two book chapters.
