Welcome to the Sir Edward Youde Scholars Association Award Gala Dinner 2024!
We are pleased to announce that the prestigious event will take place on Saturday, 25th May, 2024, at the Sung Room, 4/F, Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel & Towers, Tsim Sha Tsui. Join us for an unforgettable evening of celebration, starting with a cocktail reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by a sumptuous dinner.
This year, we are honoured to have Dr. Ricky Chiu, Founder and CEO of Phase Scientific, as our esteemed Keynote Speaker. Dr. Chiu’s is a biotech innovator, entrepreneur, and industrialist. He pioneers breakthrough medical diagnostics, commercialises and brings them to market to benefit humanity. The Covid-19 rapid antigen test he developed is a “Made by Hong Kong” success story, playing a vital role in fighting the pandemic, making him an inspiring addition to our event.
During the dinner, we will have the privilege of presenting the Golden and Silver SEYSA pins to our new and returning members. This special occasion will also commemorate the 32nd Anniversary of SEYSA, making it a truly remarkable celebration.
Dr. Ricky Chiu
Dr. Ricky Chiu is the Founder of PHASE Scientific International Limited, and the lead inventor of the Company’s core technology, PHASiFY. This technology, with over 55 international patents, significantly improves the accuracy and performance of diagnostic tests by addressing the problem of detecting low-concentration target molecules in diagnostic samples. His remarkable contributions to biotechnology and notable efforts in combating the COVID-19 pandemic leveraging on his innovations have earned him prestigious accolades, including the Ten Outstanding Young Person of the World, the Ten Outstanding Young Person in Hong Kong, the Chief Executive’s Commendation for Community Service and other esteemed recognitions.
As an adjunct associate professor at the School of Biomedical Sciences at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Dr. Chiu is committed to imparting his knowledge and expertise to aspiring individuals. He also holds various positions within the governing organizations of leading universities and serves as an advisor on different university committees. His steadfast dedication to nurturing young talents reflects his strong belief in empowering the next generation to make a positive impact on the global healthcare landscape.
