Having established a new Chapter – Apprentice Chapter, the coffee-themed Youders’ Intelligence Member Reception Series (II) was warmly introduced and successfully held on 7th July 2018. The sharing was conducted by our senior member Wilson Law, who are the Apprentice awardee of “Sir Edward Youde Memorial Awards for Self-Improvement for Working Adults” in 2016/17.

Members of SEYSA enjoyed a wonderful afternoon at Wilson’s homey coffee roastery- Beancup Coffee Roastery. Wilson shared and showed his expertise knowledge and skills on coffee brewing in which he has dedicated his effort to manage a self-running coffee roastery business in Hong Kong.

Wilson also shared stories of his life-changing careers, from achieving a position of Creative Director to continuously finding his next targets in life. He tried new challenges in riding mountain-bike, stepping out of the comfort zone to living in another corner of the world, and at present he is operating his own business in area that he endeavours to – coffee brewing. Indeed, these experiences showed his courage and positive mentality towards challenges in life.

Guest speaker: Mr. Wilson Law, Sir Edward Youde Memorial Awards for Self-Improvement for Working Adults in 2016/17

Mr. Wilson Law was a Creative Director in an advertisement firm, and an owner of an Arts Classroom. He then left his businesses and decided to work in the coffee industry. He studied as a coffee barista at the Integrated Vocational Development Centre (IVDC), and worked at the Coffee Pro. After he got the coffee certificates locally and internationally, he has been focusing on his coffee business and has established his own coffee roastery in Hong Kong. He received the Sir Edward Youde Memorial Awards for Self-Improvement for Working Adults in 2017.

Mr. Wilson Law showed his sincere and seriousness towards his profession in coffee-brewing with his practical show and tell.

Participants tasted many different handmade cups of coffee that was freshly-brewed with beans from different origins. They tasted fresh and fantastic!
